The Ice Bridge, created by Norwegian artist Vebjorn Sand, is seen after its unveiling at the opening of the exhibition 'Antarctica: On Thin Ice' at the United Nations headquarters, Monday Dec. 17, 2007. The exhibition, which is scheduled to run through Jan. 31, 2008, deals with global warming.
A Norwegian artist has built a thirty foot bridge made entirely from ice outside the UN building in New York.
Vebjorn Sand conceived the idea to highlight the harmful effects of climate change.
He said: "This is a piece of Antarctica standing outside the plaza of the UN.
"This one is intended to melt to show that Antarctica is melting. That's the clear and precise message of this project."
