A picture of Qatari Prince Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Georgetown University has circulated on social media, as the flag behind him arguably appears to be that of Bahrain, rather than Qatar.
The flags of the two Gulf monarchies are similar, however, the Qatari flag is maroon and white and the Bahraini flag is red and white. Also, the Qatari flag has a serrated edge of nine tips; the serrated edge of the Bahraini flag has five tips.

Some Twitter users wondered if Prince Tamim noticed the difference. Meanwhile, other users wondered if Georgetown or the Qatari embassy in the U.S. was responsible for the alleged “mistake.”
