It's raining tadpoles, fish and frogs in Japan

Over the past few weeks, people in Japan have been witnessing tadpoles, fish and frogs fall from the sky. Ever since the strange phenomenon was first observed in Ishikawa prefecture on June 4, reports of animal rain have been pouring in from prefectures across the coSo far, nobody has come up with a plausible explanation for the animal rainuntry.
June 16, Aichi prefecture — At around 8:00 AM, a 45-year-old company employee was driving through the town of Chiryu on his way to work, when he heard the sound of something pelting the roof of his car. When he arrived at work, he found 25 tadpole carcasses, each about 5 centimeters long, splattered on the top and sides of his vehicle.
June 24, Yamagata prefecture — At 4:30 PM, a 34-year-old piano instructor in the town of Shinjo discovered about 40 wet tadpole carcasses in her yard, just as she was leaving to walk her dog. Japan is known for being waaaay ahead of its time when it comes to technology things, this being no exception. A robot model walked the runway at a Tokyo fashion show for desginer Yumi Katsura's show, wearing a wedding dress. The model, names Miim, was even programmed to make "realistic sidelong glances" at the audience. Realistically, models don't tend to look at the audience, or to the side for that matter, when they walk the runway. She stands at about 5'2", and weighs around 95 pounds.

Invisible artist

Look carefully. A little closer. This is a portrait of a man trying to blend beautifully into the background.
Whether lurking next to a telephone box or standing to attention at a cannon, Liu Bolin has made an art of becoming the invisible man.
The Chinese artist is creating more than just startling images with his works.Standing silently in front of his chosen scene, in locations all around the world, the 36-year-old uses himself as a blank canvas.
Then, with a little help from an assistant, he paints his body to merge as seamlessly as possible with what is behind him.Liu said he wanted to show how city surroundings affected people living in them.
He added that the inspiration behind his work was a sense of not fitting in to modern society and was a silent protest against the persecution of artists.
He said: 'Some people call me the invisible man, but for me it's what is not seen in a picture which is really what tells the story.Liu's art credentials were formed after he graduated from the prestigious Sculpture Department of Central Academy of Fine Arts in China.
He said his work requires a lot of patience with him having to pose and work on his photographs for more than ten hours at a time to get it just right.
'My job is to choose a good background where I want to be "disappeared", and then stand there unmoved until a design has been painted on me,' he said.

120-Zipper Dress

This convertible dress design by Sebastian Errazuriz is nothing short of stunning in any of its possible stylistic configurations. The wearer can simply zip and unzip along any of the horizontal zipper lines to convert their clothing in a matter of seconds. What might be most remarkable about this design is how quickly it can shift from elegant to sexy, a full-length, single-piece dress one could potentially wear to work into a skimpy, short-cut, two-piece number that could put some bikinis to shame. In between there are any number of other options for shortening the top or bottom or even leaving some zippers partly on and partly off.Despite the obvious benefits in terms of variable style, temperature and so on there are some clear drawbacks to this design as well. How much cold metal can you, after all, take on your skin? And do you really want to give any passerby 120 ways to undress you in the blink of an eye.

Opera Aida

The stage set for a production of Aida on the Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria,
The tragic love affair of the Ethiopian princess Aida, the works of the well-known British sculptor Antony Gormley or the classical music concerts at the Schubertiade Hohenems – the Bodensee-Vorarlberg region is a paradise for culture lovers.
The Bregenz Festival (July 22 to August 23) will feature a production on the floating stage – the opera “Aida“. Giuseppe Verdi’s monumental opera Aida follows on from Puccini’s passionate Tosca as the opera on the floating stage in the summer of 2009 and 2010. The story of the tragic love affair between the Ethiopian princess Aida – brought to the Nile as a slave – and the Egyptian commander Radames was enthusiastically acclaimed at its premiere in Cairo in 1871, with Aida subsequently becoming one of the most popular and most performed works in the opera repertoire.

Muslim Demographics

Islam will overwhelm Christendom unless Christians recognize the demographic realities.
