The 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography went to Damon Winter of The New York Times.Winter won for his "memorable array of pictures deftly capturing multiple facets" of Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

Farrell was honored for what the judges called "provocative, impeccably composed images of despair" after Hurricane Ike and other storms caused a humanitarian disaster in Haiti.
