Medical marijuana can be purchased from a vending machine in California. Yes, you have to have a prescription. In order to use the machines, you have to have an ID card, and you’ll be fingerprinted and photographed by a security guard at the machine site.

drunk driver ploughs into group of cyclists
A cyclist was killed and 10 others were injured yesterday when a car ploughed into a bike race in Mexico.
The terrified sportsmen were hurled high into the air as a 28-year-old driver, apparently drunk and asleep at the wheel, crashed into the race near the US-Mexico border.

Adriana Iliescu, who celebrated her 70th birthday on Saturday, is actually a first time mum, proudly spending every waking moment with her three-year-old child.
She supports herself and daughter Eliza on her £250 a month pension and some extra money she makes from working part time as a university professor. Now, speaking fully for the first time about her life, Adriana insists: "I'm fit and healthy and I've never had any illnesses.
"I don't smoke and I don't drink. If I live as long as my parents did, Eliza will be 20 by the time I pass away.
"I think I still have a lot to give her."
The frail pensioner shocked the world when she announced the birth of her IVF baby on January 16, 2005, when she was 66 years and 230 days old.

Ashes of Pringles can designer buried in a can
June 2, 2008 -- The man who designed the Pringles potato crisp packaging system was so proud of his accomplishment that a portion of his ashes has been buried in one of the iconic cans.
Fredric J. Baur, of Cincinnati, died May 4 at Vitas Hospice in Cincinnati, his family said. He was 89.
Baur's children said they honored his request to bury him in one of the cans by placing part of his cremated remains in a Pringles container in his grave in suburban Springfield Township. The rest of his remains were placed in an urn buried along with the can, with some placed in another urn and given to a grandson, said Baur's daughter, Linda Baur of Diamondhead, Miss.
Baur requested the burial arrangement because he was proud of his design of the Pringles container, a son, Lawrence Baur of Stevensville, Mich., said Monday.

المرأة المعجزة او كما يطلق عليها امرأة الرئة الحديدية عاشت طيلة 60 عاما داخل رئة حديدية يبلغ طولها مترين وعلى عكس توقعات الاطباء الذين اعتقدوا بأنها لن تتمكن من العيش كثيرا ..ولكن المأساة هو ان هذه المرأة توفيت في بيتها الكائن في ممفيس في ولاية تينسي الامريكية بسبب انقطاع مفاجىء في التيار الكهربائي الذي كان يشغل الرئة الحديدية ..وباءت محاولات الاهل في تشغيل المحول الكهربائي ايضا بالفشل .المرأة التي تدعى "دياني اودل" اصيبت بشلل الاطفال في سن الثالثة ونتج عنه مرض تصلب عصبي ادى الى قصور في عمل الرئتين وكان لا بد لها من الاستعانة بالرئة الحديدية التي كانت تجبر رئتها الاصلية على التمدد والتقلص وبالتالي مساعدتها في التنفس ورغم وضعها السيء الا انها تمكنت من مواصلة تعليمها والحصول عى الديبلوما وكتابة كتاب ايضا بواسطة جهاز الكمبيوتر الذي يحول الصوت الى جمل مكتوبة ..وكانت "اودل " تستقبل زوارها وتشاهدهم من خلال مرآة مثبتة في اعلى الرئة الحديدية ..وهو نفس المكان الذي كانت تشاهد منه برامجها التلفزيونية المفضلة
