Man With A 11st Leg Tumour

Chen Zongtao, 29, lives in a remote Chinese village and hasn’t been able to afford medical help.
The growth first started on his left foot when he was two years old.
But it soon spread across to his right leg and engulfed it.
Over the years, it has ballooned in size to weigh more than 70KG.
Doctors at the hospital in Changsha, central China’s Hunan province, have been probing the tumour this week.

قررت امرأة خضعت لعملية تخصيب اصطناعي مقاضاة طبيب لأن نتيجة التخصيب كانت إنجاب صبي وليس فتاة كما كانت ترغب للحؤول دون انتقال مرض دم وراثي في العائلة إلى طفلها. وذكرت صحيفة "دايلي مايل" البريطانية ان المرأة الأسترالية (30 عاماً) وزوجها اضطرا إلى التخصيب الاصطناعي أملاً في إنجاب فتاة لأنهما كانا يخشيان من أن ينجبا صبياً يحمل مرض الاستعداد للنزف الوراثي الذي يمنع الدم من التجمد. وبعد الطلب من الطبيب بعدم زرع أجنة ذكر خلال التلقيح، حملت فيونا بطفل ظنت انه فتاة. لكن فيونا ذهلت عندما قال الأطباء انها أنجبت صبياً خصوصاً بعد أن علمت هي وزوجها بول من ملبورن ان ابنهما ورث المرض الذي لا يصيب إلاّ الذكور. وفي حالة هي الأولي في العالم، رفع الزوجان دعوي ضد أطباء التلقيح الاصطناعي في ملبورن وأكدا انهما مصابان بالذعر والصدمة. وطالب الزوجان تعويضاً عن المال الذي أنفقاه خصوصاً وانهما سيضطران إلى إنفاق الكثير للحفاظ على حياة طفلهما جيس الذي ولد في يونيو 2005 . وقالت فيونا "نحب ابننا الصغير لكننا آسفون لأنه سيعاني كثيراً في حياته"

French doctors had already succeeded in performing the world's first partial face transplant back in 2005 and they have now succeeded in performing the world's first full-dace transplant.
Pascal Coler - a modern-day Elephant Man - had been horribly disfigured by Von Recklinghausen's disease, a rare genetic disorder.
The controversial operation, which involved replacing Mr Coler's face with that of a dead donor, took 16 hours, and required tissues, nerves, arteries and veins being attached to the patient's face.
The operation has revolutionised his life and a year after the surgery, Mr Coler is now free of the disease that at the age of six saw tumours begin to grow on his face
